La Vie Before Me

Konnichiwa (Hello),

My name is Mohamed Adam Asyraff bin Mohamed Jeffery (I know, it is quite long so feel free to call me Adam Jeffery or AJ, a nickname given to me during my time in Japan) and I am just your average Malaysian living life out of Malaysia…well, for now. I have been very blessed for the past 22 years now. From traveling the world as a Global Nomad, moving from one country to another following obediently and gratefully behind my mother as she brings the gift of travel to my father, brothers, and I, to having spent the last three years of my life studying Business Management at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. I have made many friends along the way, acquired the good (and leaving out the bad) aspects of each culture, developed various passions, and now I begin a new journey as I not only enter the working world (for the first time in my life…can you imagine? I have never worked in my entire life and now, here I am, starting work at an Art Gallery on Newbury Street) but as I attempt to reach a higher level in my, shall we say, artistic endeavors.

I have always loved writing, be they essays (I enjoyed writing my International Baccalaurate Extended Essay and various other works in sociology), blogs (my current joint project is with my high school friend on sandwiches ), or my latest endeavor, a form of photo-journaling on Instagram. With my love for writing and current passions in fashion, art, food, lifestyle as well as the abundance of readily available “voices” out there, such as, fashion bloggers (i.e. Park & Cube, Garance Dore, and Style Bubble); “foodies” (i.e. Best Food Writing 2014 or Anthony Bourdain); “young voices” that I’ve come across while I was in my insta-addict phase…no really, I would be on it 24/7… (i.e. Scout Sixteen, Yummertime, and DonBorsch), turning to the blogosphere and leaving my “voice” for others to enjoy (and criticize, for my own improvement of course) seemed ideal at this point in time.

I hope that you will enjoy reading and savoring the umami of my life (La vie umami…I know it may not make actual sense but let’s roll with it).

Bon Appetit,

Adam Jeffery.

P.S. Special thanks to fellow instagramer@MsMimmy for these lovely photos of me which she took during my visit to Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Brava~!
